2018 is our second year partnering with the Marine Toys for Tots program in both Orlando and Tampa. This year we also collected donation at our 5 Houston, TX locations. We are so pleased we got to give back to our community again this year to purchase bicycles for children. Our 32 Florida stores collected donations over just a two-week period in November and December of 2018. Many of our guests, like yourself, rounded up their order or donated any amount during their visit to one of our cones. The result was great!
Thanks to your contributions we were able to raise over $4,500. With your donations we were able to purchase 32 bikes in Orlando and 31 bikes in Tampa. We also were able to give a charitable donation to the Houston, TX Marine Toys for Tots chapter! Our goal was achieved again this year and we couldn’t be more thrilled for the kids that will have a brand-new bike to unwrap.
Our first celebration was held in Tampa at our Twistee Treat Gandy location. Everything worked out splendid. From the U-Haul rental, the purchase at Wal-Mart, back to our store to set up for a photo with the Marines from the local Toys for Tots program, and finally loading the truck to send off the bikes. We did this all over again the next day in Orlando at our Twistee Treat Westside location!
