Twistee Treat USA has officially welcomed our Melbourne location to the family. We celebrated their Grand Opening Party on National Ice Cream Day, July 15th. Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us that day. We had a blast and we hope you did too! The new ice cream shop features all of your favorite Twistee Treat menu items including real homemade soft serve ice cream, slushies, sundaes, shakes, cookiewiches, waffle tacos, hot dogs and more. What a great day it was at Twistee Treat Melbourne and at each one of our locations for National Ice Cream Day! A fun fact for you, it was President Ronald Reagan that declared the month of July in 1984 as National Ice Cream Month and July 15th, 1984 as National Ice Cream Day, but the holiday has been celebrated every year since!
“Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim July 1984 as National Ice Cream Month and July 15, 1984, as National Ice Cream Day, and I call upon the people of the United States to observe these events with appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
Twistee Treat was established in 1983. Coincidence? Either way, we’ll continue to keep up the tradition President Reagan started and we’d like to think we helped influence him in making the decision! It’s certainly a big holiday for us here at Twistee Treat. We had plenty of games, face painting, prizes, giveaways by posting on Instagram with the hashtag #TTICECREAMDAY and lots of delicious ice cream! Thank you to everyone who attended and participated! It is certainly a day we will not forget!
